| I am joining the trend and moving my blog to Short Angry Ninja. Don't worry, you can still find me here. You can still comment, heck you could even sign up and move too! You know you want to!

| I finally broke down and got a haircut. My 3rd professional
(meaning I paid for it :)) cut of my life. I am proud to say that
it is not only a cut but a style. I have layers for the first
time in my life as well. It's all wavy and in my face. So
far its on probation. We'll try this styling and wearing it down
thing for a while and see how I like it. It looks cute, but it is
hot and I have the feeling work intensive. Also, currently it has
been styled by the stylist, who knows what will happen when I try
it. However, the stylist said that my hair is rather thin on top,
probably from a lifetime of ponytails. So, she suggested it that
I keep it shorter for a while. Maybe I inherited the Neubert
hair line. :)

| I love not working. I love summer. This part of teaching is
great! :) Next year is looking good as well. We think we
know who our new principal is going to be and we are very excited about
it. I find out for sure (I think) on Friday.
Today I sat for 2 hours in Panera just talking with the other
teachers. Then I went to the library to rent a video to watch
while I fold laundry. I also plan to read until I get sick of it,
which might be sometime in the next lifetime. I am looking
forward to working the week after next, however. That will be
enjoyable too... hopefully.

| My favorite pair of pants, which I have been avoiding for the past few
months because I could barely get them on and then they were very
uncomfortable to sit down in, fits! I have room in the thies and
it doesn't pull in weird places. When I sit down, I don't fear
for the seams! I have lost 10 lbs in the last few months and I am
so proud of myself. 10 more to go and then I am going shopping
for new clothes!

| Yesterday I did a lot of running around town doing various
errands. One of these was buying scrapbook paper for my wedding
album. (I finally got the pictures!) My parents gave me a
very nice scrapbook for an album at Christmas. I swore to my self
when all of this scrapbook nonsense started that I would not join the
fray. I have way too many half-hobbies that I don't see through
to the end. So, when I got the album, I renewed that vow. I
wanted this to be more of a formal album than a scrapbook. I just
wanted the backgrounds to be something other than white. So, I
have gone to 4 or 5 hobby stores in search of the perfect paper (One
scrapbook store was larger than our apartment and had nothing but
scrapbooking supplies. I literally felt the hobby trying to
swallow me alive!). I also bought a paper cutter and those little
sticky photo squares. Yesterday, I got almost the entire ceremony
done and then I ran out of sticky squares. I am so proud of
myself. I might have the album done by my 1-year
anniversary. (Which is coming up next month! Can you believe it?)
I also resisted the temptation to buy beads to make myself a lanyard
for my school ID. I was going to buy some and then I looked in my
bead box. I have between 40 and 50 different kinds of seed
beads! The box is complete with all sorts of clasps, bobby pins,
thread, wire, etc. I decided that the last thing I needed was
more beads. A lot of them I think I bought when I was working at
JoAnn's and never even opened. So, if anyone needs any beaded
jewelry, let me know. At this point, I am not working for at
least another week, so I've got time.
Yesterday was also one of the greatest days of the year because it was
the public library's annual book fair! Children's books
$.50! I spent $15 yesterday and then went back today to see what
was left and spent another $12. That's 54 books for $27!
Most of them are chapter books. I needed some higher leveled
books for third grade next year. I am very excited. I also
was supporting the public library, which I don't really like because it
is huge and impersonal and they have no spine labels on any of their
books which is a huge pain in my bum. I can forgive them for the
institutional feel because it is a large city library, but no spine
labels? Come on people! That's just laziness.
However, I do support public libraries in general, even if I am a
library snob after working in what is still in my opinion, the best public library on earth.
At the moment it will suffice to say that I am enjoying my vacation
immensely. I am reading a ton and doing craft projects. I
wish someone would pay me to do this.
